Snow

we have been clustered into the house with icicles hanging off the roof and lots of snow outside, but that big rabbit is still hopping around out there, and messing up the snow, with big foompahs all over.

it looks like he throws himself into the snow,
but i guess that would be what one does
if it’s over-the-head snow. it is over-the-head snow.

it is more snow than what’s been seen in a while,
but up here, in Vermont, there are plenty of places to put it.
snow is good for the water table.
in some parts of the country, they are having drought.
we are grateful.

inside the house, firewood is keeping the wood stoves going
and there are plenty of quilts to put together... books to read...
people to communicate with... movies to watch
... corners to clean.. and phone conferences to have.

when you live in the country... your house is equipped with
all one needs to be kept viable, busy, and happy during all kinds
of weather... or maybe, it’s just a matter
of being happy, no matter what
seems to be going on...
